Namaa and Waraa

Namaa and her mother Waraa stayed over for two weeks, at Christmas time, while their owner was away in holidays.

They were both very young (Waraa still a baby), energetic and funny. Most of all, they were sooooo cute! :D

Gucci is Almost Leaving

My dear Gucci will be moving to the Valleys around Cardiff to her new family next week.
It is amazing to see how she grew confident and spoiled during her time with us. We will really miss her. However I believe she will be very well taken care of and will be very happy once she settles in and that is what matters the most. =)

Snuggles & Splash

So, S&S went to their house already. They seemed very happy by meeting their owners again! =)

S&S

There isn't much to say about S&S besides that they seem pretty happy, as far as a rat can show it! =)

I have kept their cage open and in a way they can climb to the bed so they have plenty of space to walk around. However, they usually prefer to remain in their cage, probbaly they feel safer there.

I have given them spaguetti and cooked chicken, in different days. They loved it! =)
They also enjoy apple and bananas, but weren't particularly impressed with carrots.

I shall try yoghurt one of these day.

Gucci Again

Well, now we have Gucci and the rats with us. The rats couldn't be more safe! Besides having the guests room all by themselves, Gucci don't pay them any attention, even when they're on my lap. She doesn't even move a single whisker to say they are bothering her sleep. :P

Anywayz, Gucci is going to a new family in about a week time. I really hope to be able to receive news from her when after she's gone because we are quite attached to each other, me and her, so it'll make me feel very happy to know she's happy and well taken care of! =)
There were several home offers for Gucci in the last weeks, but I have refused them all in favour to the one that seemed to be the best one for Gucci.
She'll have a feline brother, as hairy as she is, which is going to be great to improve her social skills! ;)
She will also have a 2 year old boy to squeeze her and cuddle her as she learned to like, hehe

She now not only likes to be cuddled as she even asks for it. Having her on my lap is still a challenge, she doesn't stay long, but she reacts much better now and even purrs.

Brushing haven't improved much, she doesn't really like it, but if I talk nicely to her she doesn't complain much either.

Splash & Snuggles

Two days we've received at our home two very sweet rats, named Splash and Snuggles (hereafter referred to as S&S).
While I'm writting this blog entry, Snuggles is over my shoulder! =)

After they settled in in the guests room, I took them out their cage and put them on my bed, while I was working on my dissertation.

Initially they were quite happy just laying on my lap, but then Splash discovered the joys of tunneling under the quilt and they ended up both there, sniffing my feet, and asleep after a while! :P hehe

Yesterday night I've layed a piece of cotton on their cage, expecting to it turned into a nest in their little house on the next day (as my own rats used to do). To my astonishment they left it as it was, but used it as toilet instead! That is actually great, because it absorbs the wee and the smell, keeping the cage cleaner.

I've also given them an apple and the three of us were photographed while chilling out on the sofa.

I have also developed an alergy to them! :( My skin is covered with itchy white bubbles after a few minutes with them over me. The good thing is that, once I put them back on the cage it improves.

My new camera arrived just in time to take a few photos of and make a video of them. =)
